I was first licensed to practice law in New York in 1990 and in Texas in 1992. I’m admitted before every federal district court in both states, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Second Circuits. Before I took a single case of my own, I clerked for two respected federal judges: the Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Honorable Filemon B. Vela Sr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. That experience gave me an early, close-up view of how federal judges actually weigh evidence and evaluate trial strategy — a perspective I’ve carried into every case since.

I began my career working with defense firms, learning firsthand how insurance companies and corporate defendants evaluate, prepare, and try cases. I later put that knowledge to work representing injured plaintiffs, while continuing to handle defense matters as well. That dual experience is rare, and it matters: I know how the other side thinks, what they’re afraid of at trial, and what it actually takes to build a case they can’t out-litigate.
